Jack Dunn began his career as a VFX artist, building over 12 years of experience on major studio productions. His focus has since shifted towards directing documentaries that explore social justice, conservation and underrepresented communities. This portfolio spans both worlds. Beyond my VFX work, I am also actively engaged as a videographer. Currently, my focus lies in crafting compelling travel videos and short documentaries that shed light on humanitarian work. My work as been selected and screened at film festivals in North America and Europe, which is something I am immensely proud of.

As a VFX Compositor, I have a deep passion for bringing both photo-realistic and stylised images to life in feature films. Over the course of my career, I have developed extensive expertise in multi-layer compositing, deep compositing, stereo compositing, as well as invisible 2d compositing. These skills allow me to excel in delivering exceptional visual effects that immerse audiences in captivating cinematic experiences.
Throughout my career as a Senior VFX Compositor, I’ve had some incredible experiences and received recognition that I’m truly grateful for. One of the highlights was being honoured with the ‘Applause Award’ for my work on Spiderman – Into the Spiderverse at Sony Imageworks in 2019. It was a rewarding experience to contribute to the innovative look development of the Collider Beam sequence, which can be seen in my showreel. I had the opportunity to create and refine various tools and techniques that played a significant role throughout the film. Additionally, I had the privilege of sharing my knowledge and insights by delivering a lecture on Deep Compositing. It was a humbling experience to see my Deep template being utilised as a valuable resource for my fellow Lighters and Compositors.
One of my biggest passions in life is to travel and take photos.
